Daido Moriyama "The Taste of Distance" in N.Y.
EventsLong Story Short presents Daido Moriyama: The Taste of Distance, on view September 3 – October 12, 2025, at 52 Henry Street, New York.
First realized at Fondation Cartier in Paris, this landmark project comes to New York for the first time. At its center is Record (mazemaze)—a limited edition of 100 photobooks assembled by visitors themselves from Moriyama’s iconic Record series. Each book is unique, underscoring the artist’s vision of photography as a process of constant variation and reinvention.
Since the 1960s, Moriyama has redefined the possibilities of the medium, his raw, high-contrast images of urban life shaping the course of contemporary photography. The Taste of Distance offers audiences a rare chance to encounter his work not only as images but as living documents shaped by participation and chance.
