“Sea of Time - TOHOKU” Project by Contemporary Artist Tatsuo Miyajima

Founded in 1978, Brunello Cucinelli is an Italian fashion brand renowned for its philosophy of Humanistic Capitalism and deep respect for craftsmanship. At CASA CUCINELLI TOKYO, an art space within their flagship store in Omotesando created as a bridge between Japanese and Italian culture, Tatsuo Miyajima’s “Sea of Time - TOHOKU” Project will be presented. Brunello Cucinelli Japan has supported the reconstruction of Tohoku since 2016, when founder Brunello Cucinelli visited Japan to deliver a keynote speech at the Tohoku Reconstruction Symposium held five years after the Great East Japan Earthquake.

As a further contribution to preserving the memory of the disaster, works by Tatsuo Miyajima will be exhibited in connection with his “Sea of Time - TOHOKU” Project, created together with 3,000 participants. The project carries prayers for the victims, preserves the memory of the earthquake, and expresses hope for building the future together.
